On August 23, 2023, the Power and Energy Unit of the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) organised a training session on the basic scientific and technical aspects of power and energy. The session was conducted by Professor Dr Khosru Mohammad Salim, an eminent Bangladeshi researcher in this field. The training was attended by researchers working in CPD’s Power and Energy Unit, including Dr Khondaker Golam Moazzem, the Research Director of CPD. The objective behind organising this session was to enhance the core understanding of power and energy among the researchers working in the sector. Through this interactive session, the researchers were introduced to various concepts of electricity and its transmission. The session also touched on different concepts of renewable energy. This training is a part of CPD’s ongoing efforts to enhance its institutional capacity in order to conduct more comprehensive research on the broader topics of power and energy.
